Scuba Diving in Andaman for Beginners: What to Check
A first dive should begin with a conversation about suitability, not a promise of a particular depth, animal sighting or price. Tell Reefline whether you are considering an introductory session or training so the right questions reach the operator.
Introductory sessions and courses are different
Ask what the chosen programme involves, how instruction is provided and whether it is a single experience or a certification course. Do not assume an introductory session gives the same qualification or independence as a course.
Confirm suitability privately with the operator
Share swimming confidence and complete the operator's medical screening. Seek qualified medical advice when the screening calls for it. Reefline cannot provide medical clearance, and an activity description does not establish that a person can safely participate.
Questions to ask before paying
- Who operates the session and what qualifications do the instructors hold?
- What briefing, equipment and supervised practice are included?
- What are the group size, supervision arrangements and emergency procedures?
- Are transfers, photographs or videos included or charged separately?
- What happens if conditions change or the operator determines the session is unsuitable?
Plan the dive alongside your flight
Ask the operator for the required surface interval before flying after your proposed dive programme, then build that interval into the itinerary. Do not put a dive on the final morning simply because there is free time before the flight.
Conditions and prices need a specific quote
Confirm the island, operator, programme, date and included services together. Visibility, access, marine life and operating conditions vary. We do not publish a universal dive price or promise a particular reef sighting.
Keep a flexible alternative
Leave room for a beach day if the session cannot operate or is unsuitable. A good itinerary has a useful alternative and clear change terms. Share your travel window and interests with Reefline to discuss how an optional marine experience fits your route.
