Top 5 Beaches in Havelock Island You Must Visit

Top 5 Beaches in Havelock Island You Must Visit

12 June 2026

Havelock Island (officially Swaraj Dweep) is the crown jewel of the Andamans, famous for its turquoise waters and powdery sand. Here are the five beaches you absolutely cannot miss.

1. Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7)

Voted Asia's best beach by TIME magazine, Radhanagar is a 2km stretch of pristine white sand backed by dense forest. Sunsets here are legendary — plan to arrive at least an hour before dusk.

2. Elephant Beach

Reachable by a short boat ride or a 30-minute jungle trek. The shallow reef just offshore makes it the best spot for snorkelling and beginner scuba.

3. Kalapathar Beach

Named after the black rocks lining one end. Quieter than Radhanagar, perfect for sunrise photography.

4. Vijaynagar Beach (Beach No. 5)

Lined with mahua trees, this is where most resorts open onto. Calm waters and a long shoreline ideal for morning walks.

5. Govind Nagar Beach

Local favourite — fewer crowds and great for swimming. A great stop on a bicycle tour of the island.

Reefline tip: Pair Havelock with 2 nights in Neil Island for a complete island-hopping experience.
